FN Herstal
FN Herstal was founded by a group of investors in Herstal, Belgium, to manufacture 150,000 Mauser model 89 rifles for the Belgian army. FN America was formed in 2014, as the company was producing weapons for the U.S. military at its new factory in South Carolina. The most famous FN Herstal handgun is arguably the Browning Hi-Power. Its design began under John Browning and was finished by Dieudonné Saive after Browning passed away. Developed in 2004, the FN Herstal SCAR (Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle) is a short-stroke piston-operated assault rifle used by Special Operations Command.
